Boy Scout summer camp is fun for the boys and one of the best opportunities they have to earn advancement.
Webelos 2s that just crossed over to the Troop are welcomed to spend the week. They will have a BLAST….
WHO’s GOING (so far): Tim C., Dominic C., Ryan C., Thomas D., Dylan D., Alex H., Jack M., Michael M., Charlie M., Harris R., and Xander S. Matthew C. is working at Roosevelt this summer as a councilor, so we’ll see him too.
JOIN NOW: Scouting is the most fun when your friends are scouts too. I encourage all boys and parents to talk-up scouting. I am available anytime to answer questions. Yes, a new boy joining the Troop today can go to summer camp this July!
DO THIS: Archery, outdoor climbing, campfire building, rifle range, swimming, intro to scuba, sports…you name it, it’s available at Roosevelt. From morning reveille to evening taps, our scouts are with other scouts learning new outdoor skills, biking Roosevelt’s trails, swimming in the pool or lake, paddling the lakefront or drinking Slurppies at the Trading Post.
But there is also some “down-time” with afternoon siesta and the T179’s evening campfires.
NEW SCOUTS – Boy Scout Summer Camp is especially a great experience for the Webelos 2s that just “crossed-over” to Boy Scouts. Roosevelt has one of the best “New Scout” programs – The Rough Riders.
OLD SCOUTS – “Old scouts”, I mean the practically-ancient 14-17 year olders. They get to ride ATV, hone their camping skills and earn many Eagle-required merit badges.
PARENTS GUIDE: This new guide provides a ton of info from all the activities your scout can choose from to what to pack for summer camp. We will also have a meeting in the next couple of weeks focused specifically on selecting merit badges and setting some goals for the Troop:

IMPORTANT: All scouts and adult leaders MUST have a physical and have the doc complete the BSA Medical form sections A, B and C before summer camp. It would be great if all forms could be turned in completed and SIGNED by July 15th. BSA form linked below:
