The Mission of Boy Scouts Of America
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Troop #179 accepts boys from all walks of life and backgrounds. Boys come to us with a wide range of physical and emotional maturity, social skill-sets, and learning abilities. We take them all. We want the athletes. We want the awkward mis-fits. We want any boy who thinks that Scouting sounds like fun.
The Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,
courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty,
brave, clean, and reverent.
Troop #179 has been around for over 80 years!
