The Troop has been busy, with everyone working remotely and independently!

The Troop would like to thank the older scouts that already have that MB. Your attending, listening and providing input is valuable and makes all the difference to those New Scouts. It strengthens the Troop and sets an example so when the current New Scouts are 16 and 17 years old, they know it’ll be their job to help those New Scouts.

We are picking up the Comm MB pace a bit. All Scouts are expected to attend the Haddon Twp Commissioners meeting via Zoom to fulfill requirements #5. Scouts will have to actively listen, take notes from both sides of an issue and then prepare a report.

“THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL CONDUCT ITS MEETINGS ELECTRONICALLY USING FREECONFERENCECALLING.COM. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION WILL BE PROVIDED AND IS ENCOURAGED. TO ATTEND THESE MEETINGS, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO CALL (503) 300-6866 AND ENTER ACCESS CODE 567153.”

 

Scouts must mute their phones after they call in.

The troop will be completing requirement 5 of Communications MB which states:

“Attend a public meeting (city council, school board, debate) approved by your counselor where several points of view are given on a single issue. Practice active listening skills and take careful notes of each point of view. Prepare an objective report that includes all points of view that were expressed, and share this with your counselor.”

Attention all Second Class and younger Scouts! DO NOT HESITATE to COMMUNICATE with me via, email, phone or smoke signal. Scoutmasters are focused to work with you to complete this Eagle Required MB. Your SPL, ASPL and Patrol Leaders will lead on this. Ask everyone for help if you want.
